ST. PAUL'S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

Worship and Spiritual Life

Sunday worship at St. Paul is the highlight of our week.

OUR SERVICE

Our service includes traditional hymn singing, Old Testament and New Testament scripture readings, a fifteen-minute lectionary-based sermon, a children’s sermon, and a special message in music from our choir. All music and instrumentation is live (we do not employ electronics or recordings), with our pipe organ being our service’s most prominent musical feature.

The United Church of Christ practices open communion, meaning ALL individuals are welcome and encouraged to participate.

OTHER SERVICES

During the Lenten Season, we partner with our sister church in Pekin—the Congregational Church—to offer additional mid-week evening services, including Maundy Thursday. Mid-week services are also commonly offered during the summer months, as an effort to accommodate those who may travel often and miss Sunday worship.

Pastor Heather and Pastor Lauren also offer an informal, off-site weekly bible study of the lectionary material, as well as special religious studies and classes throughout the year. Please check our church calendar for the most up-to-date schedule.
